This evening, UQ ITS networking will be performing software upgrades on the 2 border edge network switches (BES switches) in the Polaris data centre to address security and other issues.
The network switch architecture does not provide dual access paths for all services. This means that the upgrades are likely to result in short periods of network disruption for various QRIScloud / Polaris services (e.g. QRISData collections, and NeCTAR VMs) as each switch is upgraded.
This work has been deemed urgent, and cannot be delayed. The upgrade work is scheduled to happen from 9pm to midnight tonight to minimize disruption to QRIScloud users. QCIF apologizes for the short notice of the outage.
Update 2015-12-10 22:30: This work has been successfully completed. Users experiencing network related issues should submit a support request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
