Advice: QRIScloud emergency outage - 2015-11-11 - 09:00 to 11:00


On Wednesday 11th November starting at 9am, we will be performing some essential maintenance on the database servers that hold local information about the NeCTAR QRIScloud availability zone.  This will entail taking the QRIScloud AZ out of the NeCTAR cloud for a period.  During this time, NeCTAR Dashboard and NeCTAR OpenStack API functions will be disabled for QRIScloud resident NeCTAR resources.

Existing QRIScloud instances and volumes will continue running normally, but you will be unable to launch, terminate or reboot instances, or create instance or volume snapshots.

The outage window is nominally 2 hours.

We apologize for the inconvenience and short notice, but the maintenance work needs to be done this week to reinstate a failed replica in the local database cluster.

UPDATE 11:45 - The database repair was completed within the window, but then we ran into Neutron metadata server issues which was causing problems for newly launched and rebooted instances.  These have now been resolved.
