Last night at about 10pm, we had a problem with the RabbitMQ messaging service that underpins much of QRIScloud's OpenStack infrastructure. This caused higher level OpenStack functions to stop working; for example, launch, snapshot and terminate requests for NeCTAR instances in the QRIScloud availability zone stopped working.
The cause of the problem was identified at start of business this morning, was fully remedied by 9:15am. Normal function has now been restored.
Instances that were already running in the QRIScloud availability zone would not have been affected, except in cases where they tried to use the OpenStack clients or APIs.
