On Wednesday April 5th at 9am, we will be upgrading the Nova Compute service on the QRIScloud NSP compute nodes. This is part of the NeCTAR mandated OpenStack Mitaka upgrade sequence.
We expect there will be no detectable service interruptions. These upgrades have been performed on all QRIScloud NeCTAR compute nodes with no issues. In the worst case there could be:
- possible short-term problems with launching and managing NSP instances, or
- possible instance reboots on some compute nodes.
There is no need to take any precautions, though it is advisable to check that your instance backups are up to date.
If you notice any problems during the hazard period, please raise a Support ticket by emailing <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
UPDATE 2017-04-06 - The upgrade was completed by 10am on Wednesday with no incidents.
